WHAT IS CIT?

​Established in 2002, the Center for Information Technology (CIT) at Matoaca High School provides students with an amazing opportunity; a challenging, meaningful, and relevant technology based curriculum, developed through a collaborative relationship with business and academic communities.

The CIT program motivates students to demonstrate a mastery of subject content and to develop the skills and discipline necessary for success in the competitive technological global economy.

 

At CIT, students are prepared to live, learn, and work successfully in the digital communication age, confidently achieving their unique goals with relevant and dynamic instruction.

CIT Mission:

For CIT students to develop and achieve a diverse and broad perspective, critical thinking and problem solving skills, high academic standards, technological fluency, communication and interpersonal skills, information literacy, learning independence, economic viability, and community stewardship in this ever changing, technology based, global society.

Core courses are constructed to enhance technology learning and to develop problem solving and critical thinking.  

CIT students have the opportunity to achieve many important, relevant technology focused certifications.

CIT students are required to complete and log at least 10 hours of community service per year.
